You’ve Done the Work…
So Why Do You Still Feel Stuck?

You’ve been to therapy but are still unable to fully move forward. Maybe you:
  • Sense how your trauma has affected you, but don’t know how to change the habits it created.
  • Keep attracting the same relationships or falling into people-pleasing patterns.
  • Feel calm one moment and overwhelmed the next, constantly stuck in fight-or-flight.
  • Set boundaries… but then feel guilty or worry people will leave.
  • Know what’s wrong, but can’t seem to take consistent action toward what’s right.
Understanding your past is powerful, but it’s not the same as creating your future.

Cultivate Peace, Purpose, and Self-Trust

Let’s turn awareness into action and create lasting change that touches every area of your life.
Through the Forward Thinking Trauma Coaching process, you’ll learn to:
Release old survival patterns like people-pleasing, self-doubt, and overreacting to triggers.
Build calm from the inside out by learning to regulate your nervous system and respond instead of react.
Set boundaries with confidence and without guilt or second-guessing.
Form relationships built on mutual respect instead of fear or obligation.
Understand how your past continues to shape the choices and decisions you make today.
Lead your life with clarity and self-trust, no longer defined by the past but guided by your own choices.

I’ve Walked This Path Too

I worked for years as a psychologist and behaviorist, earning a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development. I’m also a certified trauma coach and certified leadership coach. My background gives me a deep understanding of how trauma influences emotion, behavior, and growth.

But my real understanding comes from lived experience with trauma, loss, and recovery. I know what it’s like to live in survival mode and wonder if change is really possible. The same tools I now teach helped me rebuild my own life, find clarity, and create a future that feels authentic and free.

But my real understanding comes from lived experience with trauma, loss, and recovery. I know what it’s like to live in survival mode and wonder if change is really possible. The same tools I now teach helped me rebuild my own life, find clarity, and create a future that feels authentic and free.

Turning Awareness Into Action

Today, I combine psychology-based, trauma-informed insight with action-based coaching to help you bridge the gap between therapy and transformation.

If you’re ready to stop circling the same stories and start building what comes next, I’d be honored to walk beside you.

Trauma Coaching vs. Trauma-Informed Coaching

Many coaches call their work “trauma-informed,” but that doesn’t always mean it helps you move forward. Being trauma-informed means having awareness of how trauma affects people. It’s compassionate and careful, but often stops at understanding.

Trauma coaching goes further.

It’s not just about knowing what happened to you, but learning how to lead yourself through what comes next.
At Forward Thinking, trauma coaching is an active, practical process that helps you:
  • Identify how past patterns still influence your present
  • Rebuild safety and trust within yourself
  • Regulate your nervous system so you can respond, not react
  • Apply leadership skills that turn healing into action
It’s the bridge between therapy and transformation, where awareness becomes growth, and healing becomes momentum.

Real People.

Real Healing. Real Change.

I feel better and I live differently now.
I spent years in therapy understanding why I was stuck but understanding wasn’t enough. I was still overwhelmed, reactive, and caught in the same emotional cycles, even though I knew better. What changed everything was learning how to lead myself forward. With the right support, I stopped waiting to feel different and started making choices from a place of clarity and ownership. I feel better and I live differently now. And that’s something I created for myself.

I don’t abandon myself in hard moments.
I used to either shut down or explode. I didn’t know there was another way. Through this process, I learned how to pause, stay with myself, and respond with intention. I don’t abandon myself in hard moments anymore. I finally trust the way I show up.
Samantha R.
HR Director
I make decisions that reflect who I am.
So much of my identity was wrapped up in who I was for others. I didn’t know how to choose myself without guilt. Now, I make decisions that reflect who I am, not who I had to be. I’m becoming someone I recognize.

My relationships feel more grounded.
I used to second-guess everything; my boundaries, my worth, even my ability to grow. I knew the patterns were there, but I didn’t know how to change them. What made the difference was learning how to meet those patterns with compassion and structure. I gained insight and I rebuilt a sense of identity I could trust. My relationships feel more grounded, and I feel like I’m leading my life instead of reacting to it.

FAQS

What is the difference between a trauma coach and a therapist?

Therapy often looks at the past and involves diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. Coaching is more about growth and forward movement. As a trauma coach, I focus on helping you build awareness, self-trust, and tools to support your healing in the present.

What are the common signs that past trauma is still affecting me today?

You might notice that you stay on alert even when things seem fine. You may have strong reactions to small triggers or find it hard to relax. Sometimes people feel disconnected from their emotions or struggle to set boundaries. These are signs that your nervous system is still protecting you from past pain. My work helps you notice these patterns with compassion and begin to feel more grounded.

What is emotional security, and how does it relate to trauma healing?

Emotional security means feeling safe enough to be yourself. It’s knowing you can express your feelings without fear and trust your own reactions. Trauma can make this difficult because safety has been interrupted. Together, we rebuild that sense of safety by creating a steady, supportive space where your emotions can be felt and understood.

How many sessions will I need / how long does trauma coaching take?

Everyone’s process is different. I offer 3, 6, and 12-month packages to meet you where you are in your healing.

· 3 Months: A focused reset to refine tools and stay consistent.
· 6 Months: Time to create real change and build steady momentum.
· 12 Months: Deep, sustained work for lasting transformation.

Does insurance cover trauma coaching?

Coaching isn’t considered medical treatment, so it isn’t covered by insurance. Some clients are able to use their FSA or HSA to pay for sessions, depending on their plan. Many people choose to invest personally in coaching because it offers practical tools, emotional awareness, and long-term growth.

What kind of qualifications or training should a trauma coach have?

It’s important to work with a coach who is trained in trauma-informed care and nervous system regulation. My background includes specialized education in understanding how trauma impacts the body and mind, and how to create safety through coaching. I also know when a person might benefit from therapy instead, and I always work within safe and ethical boundaries.

There’s More Waiting for You Beyond Survival

You’ve come a long way, and you’re not done yet.

It’s time to move forward with support, clear direction, and the kind of accountability that leads to lasting transformation. Let’s create lasting change together.
